Casting Out Our Fears with Our Inner Light
by Johanna Kern
Have you ever felt limited and disappointed with what was available to you and didn’t know how to break free from that feeling and the circumstances?
If your answer is “Yes,” you are not alone.
As we evolve, our life takes various unpredictable turns, and in the midst of all the events we may feel overwhelmed and lost. Everyone has their own way of evolving, and certainly there are no roads that are better or worse. Every path we choose at any given time might turn out to be very valuable to us.
While we evolve, our need for spirituality grows, as well. It naturally increases and fills our life, and we may choose a different path to help our progress, or continue with the same one.
Just like most of us, I too have had many struggles in my life — including losing a parent in early childhood and developing a severe and awfully painful neuropathic syndrome after an accident that stopped me from continuing my successful career in filmmaking for several years. Although I thought that this was the end of the world for me, I let myself trust. Trust my soul and trust my own process.
From my experience I have learned that when we are trying to overcome our hardships and existential fears while looking for power coming from our conditioning — whether social, or shaped by personal feelings of worthlessness — we actually diminish our powerful inner light.
It’s like putting paper bags on top of candles to make lanterns, and protect them from the wind. We want to ensure that they will glow in the night. Yet, a paper bag also dims the candle, diminishing its brightness, and limiting its power. We have observed over the centuries how “paper bag power” crumbles and falls apart — sooner or later.
Naturally, as the consciousness that we are, we do want to persist. While living our physical life, we sense deep inside that our true existence is linked to the true Infinite Power — and our hearts seek connection to the Divine. We want to take off our “paper bags” and freely glow with our inner light.
And yes, we can. All we need is to let ourselves trust. As simple as it sounds, it may often seem very difficult to do.
The whole idea of us being able to connect with the true Infinite Power of the Divine may seem to be too abstract, unobtainable, “too good to be true.” And that is, of course, why we have covered our inner light with “paper bags.”
Our minds tend to work in a particular way: we think in a way we are used to. That is actually not so bad when it comes to remembering or analyzing things where that type of logic is required. However, when we want to expand our consciousness, and live in tune with the Divine, we need to train our mind to be able to use spiritual logic, not only the sensory kind.
All concepts of limitation are based on sensory logic, not spiritual logic. Nothing can stop a human from being whatever and whomever we want to be, except for our own choices.
What happens when we train our mind to use spiritual logic?
It begins to operate in a similar way to our soul. And so, it can make choices that benefit the progress of our consciousness, instead of making us trapped in our existential fears.
We are all part of the one whole, and we are all connected.
Each of us, as a “Spark” of the One Whole (one consciousness), experiences ourselves as an individual — but at the same time we are able to tune into the wisdom of the One Whole.
The beautiful design that we all are part of is logical and clear. It is helping our evolution, so it works with us, not against us.
When we take off our “paper bags” and let ourselves fully trust in the wisdom of the design, we begin to feel the connection with One Whole and the presence of the Infinite Power within. And we let our inner light cast out the shadows of our existential fears.
